On April 26th, 2017, our team at DHS traveled to Detroit to compete in the annual Shell Eco marathon, an event held over the weekend to find fuel efficient vehicles utilizing clean energy. We had been developing this car to be ready to be racing over the past year, and made sure that the car was ready to pass inspection, a task that more than 50% of competitors have not been able to do. After encountering several problems over this weekend and solving them by working together among themselves and other teams, our team had managed to secure a 4th place among our class at the event. This was an exciting opportunity for us to help develop and compete with a project that we built, and it was very exciting overall.
